Instructor: Dr. Mohsen Joshanloo
Associate Professor, Department of Psychology, Keimyung University, South Korea
 Visit instructor website

Workshop Format & Schedule

  • Live Online Workshop delivered via Zoom

Date and Time: To Be Announced

  • 4 hours of instruction
(Total duration: 5–6 hours (including breaks), held on a single day—most likely a weekend)

Workshop Focus

This practical, hands-on workshop uses a math-free approach to help you run analyses and report results in clear, academic language.

Designed for graduate students, researchers, and practitioners, it covers foundational statistical techniques used across disciplines and in published research.

This program is ideal for those with basic statistical knowledge who want to deepen their skills and gain practical experience as data analysts. Also, ideal for honors, master’s, and PhD thesis/dissertation writing.

Two popular software programs are used:

  • JASP(Free and open-source software)

  • SPSS(Commercial; available through most universities, free 30-day trial available)

All the analyses taught can be performed using either SPSS or JASP, so while both are covered in the course, students can choose to use either software in the future.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this workshop, participants will:

  • Gain proficiency in basic statistical techniques (e.g., ANOVA, regression, t test, correlation, data visualization)

  • Interpret statistical output with clarity and confidence

  • Reporting statistical results for assignments, theses, or publications

  • Access and work with real-world datasets provided in advance

  • Be equipped to use these tools in academic or applied research contexts

✅ Course Requirements

  • Participants will need to install JASP, SPSS, and Zoom on their personal computers before the session

  • Participants must be at least undergraduate students or hold a bachelor’s degree

  • No advanced statistical background required.
